Mac Mini + Land Rover Discovery II
These days, we’re seeing more and more hard mounted computers in vehicles. Since the computers are hard mounted, you don’t have to worry about your laptop growing legs and disapearing either. The possible uses of a computer in your vehicle are endless, including GPS, music, internet access, video, etc. (of course, use only when you are not driving).
This is an older article on 123MacMini.com where there is an example of a Mac Mini system that was installed in a Land Rover Discovery II.
The system consists of a 1.25GHz Mac Mini with wifi and Bluetooth, a Lilliput 7 inch display (touch screen capable), a Adesso Mini USB Keyboard with built-in trackball, and a USB hub mounted on the console.
The main problem people are running into is the power supply for the computer. Currently, you must run an inverter and need to power down the computer when the vehicle is turned off
I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before a solution to this problem is found.
