After two days of shooting photos on the rocks and in the dust at the W.E. ROCK rock crawl in Goldendale, WA and a few days to review, organize and upload, I’m finally able to release a photo gallery from last weekend’s competition.

With the holidays here, I haven’t had too much time get outdoors for any adventures. I was able to get some photos in while visiting relatives in Kelso, Washington over the Christmas weekend.

The photos are a combination of photos taken with my old school Sony Cybershot 1.3 megapixel camera and my Motorola E815 1.3 megapixel camera phone. Too bad Santa didn’t come through with a new DSLR camera.
With record rainfall and flooding, I decided to head out in the rain and take a look at the local river conditions. Due to time restraints (and traffic congestion due to closed roads), I was only able to visit a few Puyallup River vantage points in the City of Puyallup. At the time of my visit, there were only a few visible structures that were actually threatened unless the river arose further.
The volume of the water and amount of debris flowing down the Puyallup River was quite an impressive site. Many people were out doing the same thing as I was, taking in the view and snapping pictures.
The condition of the lower Puyallup River is minor compared to the flooding elsewhere around Washington state. Best wishes to those who have homes and businesses affected or threatened by the current round of flooding.
I just completed an overland adventure by Jeep from Cle Elum, WA (I-90) to SR410, to US Highway 12, to Mt Adams, to Mt. St. Helens and posted the pictures at Photos from Cascade Overland Adventure - August 2006.

This is a collection of photos taken between August 6-8, 2006 while taking a backroads tour of the Olympic Peninsula in my Jeep. The gallery features many of the scenic views from the overland routes driven including some from the Olympic National Park.
