Outdoor Photos 02.07

Carbon Ridge off FS 7720 near Wilkeson, Washington. Winter means spending as much time as possible on the slopes Snowboarding. My daughter is taking lessons this year, so we’ve been spending almost every Saturday at Summit Central at Snoqualmie Pass, Washington. Because of the weekend lessons and my work schedule, there has been little time to take off and explore like I would like. Such is life.

Every once in a while, I’m able to get out for a short trip to the outdoors (other than snowboarding). So far this month, my daughter and myself took a afternoon trip up to the hills above Wilkeson, Washington to work on her science project.

Penrose Point State Park, Key Peninsula, Washington I also got out with my son to the Key Peninsula area to explore and take some photos (he also played with his new Nikon D80 DSLR). I even broke out my Pentax 35mm SLR film camera and took some shots along the beach. Our day trip included visits to Penrose Point State Park and Joemma Beach State Park.

Have you ridden Steven’s Pass? The last two seasons we’ve bought passes there. Definitly out of your way, though, if you are down towards Renton. I see Whistler’s still got 20 some trails open, I’ve almost got an itch to go up there and get the last-last-last of it in, at least before I have to start walking up the mountain myself again.
