That sounds like a nice route to take.

Has anybody on the forum ever driven the length of the Old Highway 99? That would be quite the adventure. A much nicer way to go to So Cal.

Rich, didn't you and Jan drive the lower Klamath last year?

Steve, I remember riding from Seattle to San Francisco with my parents in the mid 50's and we took Hwy 99 most of the way. We turned off someplace around Sacramento, it was over 100 degrees that day. In the late 50's I personally drove Hwy 99 between Seattle and Portland a few times before the freeway was built. I finally drove "99" from Everett to the Canadian border in the early 60's with some college buddies. Never have driven the entire length, Canada to Mexico.

yes, from 101 back to I-5, and the year before, from Yreka to Cave Junction, You were with us on that one, but you had to go to Albany while we went over the hill from Grants Pass to Gold Beach.

I remember my dad speaking of trips to California via 99. I've only done the route South from the South Puget Sound to the Kelso area and sections in Oregon.
