Default OBDR Question

I am planning a trip (from south to north) to do as much of this as I can in 5-6 days. Does anyone know how long it takes a 4x4 to do the whole route? I was reading Cycoactive's web page and see they did it on motorcycles in 5 days, but I know it will take long on 4 wheels.

I did it over a series of weekends so I don't have an exact number but I would guess 8 to 11 days.

Depends on how hard and long you want to drive.

I assume you are talking about Route 5. Your estimate is probably close. I've done the entire route, and 5-6 days would be adequate for about half of it. I wouldn't recommend going alone. Some parts of the route are very remote, and if you have a problem it's a LONG walk out, and there won't be any passing cars to flag down.

Deep Creek Campground is a good starting point for the southern half. Easy access from Lakeview, it's right on the route, and it's only a few miles from the CA border. Five days, not pushing too hard, will get you to the area of Delintment Lake north of Riley.

It's all a great trip, but the northern half is the more scenic.
