Default Location of Cedar Ponds

Location of Cedar Ponds

Thomas Guide:
King County, Pages 479, 509
Snohomish County, Pages 459, 460, 479

Generally located in the foothills east of Duval and south of the Skykomish River. The Cedar Ponds Road is accessed off the Ben Howard Road that runs along the south side of the Skykomish. There are a myriad of roads accessing several small lakes in the area and the roads, somehow, connect with a road, or roads, that go all the way to Duval.

The Cedar Ponds Road ties in with the Stossel Creek Road, then the Kelley Road and when the DNR gates are open can be driven all the way from the Skykomish River to Hwy 203 just north of Carnation. That road as well as those accessing the lakes (or ponds) would make for a nice day trip.

I'll check with one of our Explorer guys (Explorer body (or parts of it) on an F250 frame). He's pretty familiar witht the Stossel Creek area.

I live in Bellingham and plan to do some exploring up near Baker once the snow melts. If I find anything interesting beside Twin Lakes I'll let you know.

THANK YOU, much appreciated! Local tours are the IN-THING these days. Considering high gas prices and resulting increased costs of lodging, food and other related expenses, local trips are much more desirable for most of us...unless you happen to live in Jordan Valley!
