From there we drove FS roads to Hwy 410 around Federated Forest and Sun Top. We took roads 41/Cabin Creek, 52, 7036, I think 7038, 7030, and 70. Other than the first mile, where the bridge washed out, it's all pretty cushy gravel roads. It was a fun drive. I plan on doing some more exploring in the area. I do wish the Lester route was open.
Such a small world! We did pretty much the same route yesterday (Sunday) and were in that area last Sunday the 28th also. Love the view on a nice day from the highest landing high atop Pyramid Peak!!

I knew we crossed Tacoma Pass. I didn't realized we'd crossed Green as well. We did see the gate. It looked in pretty gnarly shape. We figured they weren't using it any more. That's too bad.

Heh. We didn't get any kind of views. It was pretty foggy/cloudy. Still very beautiful.

It's not a small world, though. I got curious while chatting with my friends on the drive. I looked it up when I got back. There are something close to 15,000 square miles of National Forest in Washington. That's not counting National Parks and State land. Holy cow.
