Question Maps??

Hi guys,
I was trying to find a map that places or routes of
other peoples trips, maybe a member locator map
type thing.
There may be one already, sorry if there is and I didnt see it.
A member map would be cool too.
Thanks guys.
Great site.
Sean

Thanks for your suggestion.

I've never looked into these ideas, but I'll do a little research and see what I can find.

If anybody has examples or has seen this on other sites, please let me know.

Steve

For member locator info, try Frapper.

I'm interested to see what you find for trip reports. I can't go on the 4-4-08 trip on the peninsula but I bet I know someone who would retrace it with me later.

It would be excellent to have a documented list of trip routes. But starting locations would be pretty good too.

Member location map is a cool idea, and I'm into it, but I've found on other forums that people often don't like telling where they're from. So it might need to be somewhat anonymous. I don't mind telling everyone that I live in Vancouver, Washington, but I'm not eager to hand out my street address. Some people would balk at telling you what hemisphere they live in, even though it's often not difficult to deduce down to what county they live in by their English skills

PAH! Like I'd give away that information! Especially to you ...

My family moved to central Arkansas about 20 years ago from Houston, Texas. I worked in Little Rock, AR, the past ten years. The town I lived in, Conway, grew from 26,000 to about 56,000 in the time I lived there.

I just caught the Arkansas license plate on a picture you had posted and couldn't resist....

But as to the topic here, I think it would be a great idea to have a map showing some of the more interesting trails. But I'm with LoudMusic....I'd rather not be letting everyone know my street address.

Something like NW Jeep? (Washington Trails)
Many of their trail descriptions contain actual maps, but that seem fairly laborious. Has anybody tried sharing route information with Google maps or Virtual Earth? I haven't tried this myself, but it sounds promising.
