Looks like the weather is going to be HOT. Don't forget the sunscreen!

See you next week

I stopped by Big 5 Sporting Goods today to pick up a State of Washington Vehicle Use Permit. It took an act of congress to buy one. Besides the inexperience and fumbling of the little girl waiting on me, they had to scan my drivers license and punch in my social security number. As the line of angry customers behind me grew longer I was about to cancel the whole deal especially since I really don't need one in the first place. I look at purchasing a permit as much of a donation to the Department of Fish and Wildlife as a illegality. Next time I will just donate ten bucks anonymously and forget the hassle.

I'm guessing they know how to sell a hunting/fishing license quite easily. It's probably rare that someone actually asks to buy the permit without a license.

I'm in. It'll be my first trip with the group since stumbling across the web site and mailing list last winter. I'm really looking forward to it.

I doubt I can leave early enough to eat at the restaurant, and usually skip breakfast anyway, but I'll be there in plenty of time to meet up. If I can I'll drag a friend with me.

Good deal. Look for us in the parking lot about 5-10 minutes before departure and if you get there earlier you are welcome to join us in the restaurant.

Are you guys expecting a lot of mud in there? I've heard the Quilomene can be pretty mucky this time of year.

I am not expecting much mud, perhaps a little in some low points, and unless the weather changes there shouldn't enough to be concerned about. It has been dry and temps are expected to be in the mid to high 70's.

Mid to high 70's???? it's going to be mid to high 80's over here on the wet side. I'm expecting higher over there, bringing lots of frozen bottles of water.

How long will we be out there? I have a daughter coming home from college Friday night and a friend who wants to come with me who has a Boy Scout event he has to prepare for on Saturday.
