This sounds really interesting - is there a route map available?

Not really. We plan on having field trip handouts available to the participants but it really doesn't include a route map.

And yes, it really is interesting.

Thumbs up

This looks interesting, Another excellent part of the drive if included, would be driving the old highway from Mosier to The Dalles... As you come down the hill side into The Dalles the view is really beautiful. Count me in for now.

We are very interested, as is Jen's Dad and his wife. If we all plan to go, we'll probably take my four door F-150 and use the Midland 75-822 micro portable CB with magnetic antenna.

If we end up as three or even just the two of us, we'll probably see you in the Murano.

Great, looking forward to meeting you. We'll actually take the old Highway 30 route on the north side of the mountain with a stop at Rowena Overlook.

So, my grandparent-in-laws will be in town from Arizona this weekend and my wife tells me that they have zero interest in off road adventure.

x2

I'm going to try to make this one. It will be my first ride with you folks since I found PNW Backroad Adventures. I'll have to bring my Chevy Silverado 4x4 longbed extended cab pickup though. (It's either that or a low-slung FWD minivan!) It's pretty big and doesn't have the highest clearance (bone stock). Do you think I'll have any problems on the route we'd be taking? Any tight or significantly high-clearance spots along the route?

This sounds like a very interesting ride! I'm really looking forward to meeting some of you.

Looking forward to meeting you also, Tim, no problem with the pickup. A passenger car would work just fine.
