 Christmas Tree Run SOUTH 12-15-2007 Well, I'll make it official. I'm going to lead a run December 15th into the Mt Hood National Forest. Plan on either meeting in Estacada or Sandy at 9 am. I'll stop at the ranger station this week to find out the best area, either up near Goat Mt or outside ZigZag. Look for an update in the next day or two on that. | Alright, tree run... December 15th. Meeting point is the Estacada Ranger Station, Hwy 224 just West of Estacada at 9am with departure by 9:30. I'll be in my grey cherokee with BackroadDrivers sticker in the window. You will be able to get a christmas tree permit at the Ranger Station for $5. Plan is to run up Hwy 224 along the Clackamas River to Lazy Bend where we'll take NF 45 up into the mountains. There are a couple of good areas of trees but there was a fair amount of snow on the day after Thansgiving so you'll want 4x4. I plan on bringing my bow saw for cutting down trees but if you've got a chainsaw, you're more than welcome. I'll have my cell on me 853-0371 and we'll be working on CB channel 24 plus I'll probably monitor the area ch 11. Hope to see you there and if you can RSVP, it'd be appreciated. | Sounds like possibly as many as 6 people on my XJ owners groups will be attending, plus my Mom in her Dodge Ram and my buddy in his Tacoma. So, Nine people and counting? Sounds like a good time! |

| SATURDAY!!! Tree Run, You should come, sounds like there could be some fresh snow and a possiblity of it snowing while we're up there. I'll be on CB 4, thats a change. We'll be at the Estacada Ranger Station, Take HWY 212 to HWY 224 to the west end of Estacada. We'll be ther by 9 leaving by 930 get your passes there for $5 |
