We will be going through Pendleton, too, but I won't know what time until Thursday morning. I suspect we will be passing through around 1:30 PM. Don't plan on us because our departure time is dependent upon the outcome of a doctor's appointment and chores around the house.
We were talking about Freqs over on the Communications thread. I've copied that post below.
We're generally going to be on Simplex 146.580, and CB Ch 22.
I think we'll leave the Portland area mid-morning on Thursday, go through Prineville, Les Schwab Highway down to Hwy 20, then east to Burns. May stop on the way at Glass Buttes just for fun and will probably stop at Burns BLM office on the way into town. I'd like to get there by around 4:00 pm or so.

Did you happen to find any repeaters south of Burns? I've searched and nothing popped up.
I'll be monitoring the High Desert linked repeaters as we come over through Prineville. Should be 146.7 in Bend and 147.3 in Burns and they link to 147.28 in Juntura also. Makes it kind of nice when you're traveling Hwy 20.
I raised someone in Hines last year on the way back from our Owyhee Canyonlands trip and yakked for a while.
We plan to get into Burns late afternoon before dinner time. If you guys are coming down about then I'll try to raise you. If not, I'll try your cell phone.

Quote from Jerry:
Like you I couldn't find any repeaters closer than 80 miles from Fields and who knows whether we can hit them from that location. It will be fun trying. Evelyn and I should reach town about the same time as you anticipate and I will have the 2-meter scanning, the CB tuned to Ch 22 and the cell phone on. If you call on 2-meters please stretch out your call so it doesn't slip between between scan sequences.

Thanks Ryan.
Make this a great trip guys. I certainly don't want to hijack this thread, but...Jen's 37 yr old brother, strong as a rock, the one who helps me with my van, just found out he has Stage 3 Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. So basically, he just found out that he can live for one more month, or a 25% chance to live 10 more years. So of course we are going to spend the entire vacation with the family.
Spend every trip as if you know its going to be your last, because it just might have to be. Leave no corner unturned, no mud puddle unsplashed, and no vista unviewed.
That will be easy, because I know thats how most of you always travel.
To this day, Jen says that last years PNBA Owyhee trip was the single best trip she's been on. Have a great one and we'll see you next time.

We're probably up for a bonfire, too. Just depends on how Ev is feeling and whether she heads to bed early. Do you need more firewood? I can bring a couple of buckets of bone-dry wood. It's probably not necessary to say anything about cleaning up the residue afterwards other than suggest everyone pitch in.
Are there any specific times or places to meet Friday night or Saturday morning, or will we address that when we meet up in Burns? Again, availability of gasoline may dictate starting or ending times. Fields Station opens at 8:00 AM and closes at 4:30 PM.
Mick, regarding 2-meter contact, we will be traveling with Randy & Ann from Pendleton to Burns and we will be set on 146.580 instead of scan mode.
