Thread: Clemen Mountain Tour (10-04-08)

  1. Jon, your comment about campgrounds closing concerned me, so.

good news. I called the ranger station (509-653-1401(the #'s wrong on most web sites)) Kaner Flat will be open at least until Oct 31st depending on weather and maybe until Nov 15th.

Jerry, It's a lot of fun to have outdoor movies at camp (I do have several 'blue tarps'), BUT,,,,,,,,, if the weather doesn't cooperate,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I hope you have a BIG cabin

For a fire, I cheat, Duraflame 4hrs-$4 and they don't take up much space in the trailer.

  2. I'm testing out the inverter and battery today. I have a 13" color TV (tube type) running with the vcr. So far I am at 4 hours. Not sure what the watts of the TV are, but the inverter only draws a max of 15 amps and the batter is a 144 amp hour battery so we should be just fine.

  3. I think we will try and leave after swim practice at 5 or 5:30. Sould put us to Kaner after dark, around 7 or 7:30. I guess I better practice setting up the Roof Top Tent tomorrow . We'll just look for a white explorerer and a green montero. Any other campers?

  4. We may be watching a movie depending on the weather You won't be able to miss that!

I'll try to squat on 3 sites together but since I've never been there, I don't know the configuration of the spots.

We should be there early afternoon. I'll save a cold one for y'all

  5. Jerry, we will not be there this weekend. I spent all day in doctors offices today with my Dad. His knee is swelled pretty large, it is red, and it is very warm to the touch. It may be infected again........

The combination of this and his "other" issues make it very hard for me to leave them alone at this time. I guess in a couple of months when he gets over this, I will be able to get out again.

We will miss you, Hutch, but family always comes first. Hope everything turns out okay with your Dad and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Albino94ltd - Thanks for making the call. Glad to know there are campgrounds open!!

I'm trying to leave Seattle by 7 pm that puts me in around 9:30 - 10.

I collected a couple big chunks of firewood last weekend we can throw them on the fire amd will have a few tarps as well. Sounds like we have plenty of power for the movie.

Good fire, plenty of cover and a movie!! I think Jerry should join us instead just sitting around the cabin. I have an oven we could get a couple of pizzas!

    Sound tempting Jerry?

Oh yeah, real tempting. Leaving the comfort of the cabin to tough it out under a tarp sure sounds appealing to me. But, I have every intention of looking you guys up tomorrow night. It doesn't sound like a couple of you will be there early enough on Friday, but for those who are I would like to suggest an excellent fish and chips dinner at Gold Creek Restaurant. I'm not much of a fish eater, but their special is terrific.

Yeah, we will be to late for dinner, but still plan on making it to breakfast. Won't have to get up as early now that we are heading over tomorrow evening.

Farron is very excited about the movie theater.

  10. Looking forward to meeting you all Sat AM, have a good time at the drive in Friday nite
