    So what-da-ya got-ta loose.......besides a trailer?
It's a small trailer. If we head over Saturday we won't have time to drop it at the camp ground. Besides, it is build for this kind of drive. If it can't hack it, it's back to the drawing board.

I've got two boys, 7 and 10. We won't make this trip, but eventually we'll be able to make one. Got to get a Jeep Cherokee (probably this spring) or fix my CJ-5 up a bit before we'll be able to do anything but tame roads that our behemoth Chevy Silverado can fit on.
Boys, both of them. Mine is 7 also.

  2. Kaner Flats

We'll shoot for Kaner Flats campground. If that's full, we'll move up the road to Crow Creek. I assume you'll be camping Sat night?

Look for the lifted white '94 Explorer Limited and '74 Starcraft tent trailer.

With all the power you have in that trailer (400 watt inverter), we can have outdoor movie night (as long as it's not raining). I have a projector for a computer and portable DVD player. I'll pick up 'Iron Man' tomorrow.

  3. Yeah, we will be camping Saturday night for sure. What time will you head over Friday incase we can make it over?

Iron Man would be cool. We never got to see it in the theater. Do we need anything special for a screen? A big white sheet? I think the battery should be able to keep up with it.

I guess we can make an open invitation to dinner and a movie at our camp ground. Any one else interested speak up. I'll be sure to bring enough hamburger and buns.

  4. We'll probably leave here about 11:00. If we're not in camp, we'll be biking.

I have a screen too. I'll check the wattage on the projector, don't want to run out of power in the middle of the movie

  5. Jerry,

I do not have the WJ trail ready yet, but am wondering if not having tow points on the front will be any issue on this one? My guess is probably not, but if so, I don't want to cause issues with the group or slow you guys down too much. At this point all I have managed to do is lift it 2" and put the BFGs on it.

I am still planning on going, but as usual I may have health issues that keep me from attending. I will only know that one on Saturday......

Like we used to do when group riding motorcycles with a group,..........if I was late, I rode by myself. Don't wait for me.......

    Hutch

You should be just fine on this run without tow points. Hope you can make the trip, Hutch.

I just checked the projector,,,,,250watts. I can run the sound off mine but no way can I run the projector.

Will we need a generator? That's what we used at Liberty

  8. Maybe you guys should drive a few miles down the road and plug your machine into an outlet at our cabin. If you are set on roughing it you are welcome to sit outside on the porch watching movies while I am inside, all comfortable in my recliner, heating up some snacks in the microwave and switching channels on Dish TV. Seriously, Evelyn and I are talking about spending the weekend at the cabin so we can get together if it fits your plans. The cabin is located about two miles down river from Whistlin' Jack's.

Whooops! I lost your post with the others that came in at the same time. Sorry for acknowledging you so late and I am also sorry you can't make the Clemen Mountain trip. It is indeed a long haul, especially alone.

I think there will be two trips coming up closer to you guys in the Willamette Valley. One for sure on November 1st, a fall colors tour along the Nestucca River - Ryan has already posted initial info about that one with more details to follow.

Ryan is also talking about leading a Christmas Tree/Winter Run on December 13th. Details are forthcoming.

And back in Washington, after the Cleman Mountain Tour, we have our 10th Anniversary Mountain Loop Tour starting in Everett on October 25th, possibly another trip via fire trails in the Ellensburg area in mid November and a Christmas Tree Run (probably in the Naches area) on December 6th.

That should keep us busy until we can figure out something to do in January and February!

    Hey Guys,

This will be my first trip with Backroads! Super excited to be heading out with all of you.

I'm planning on camping Friday and Saturday night. If no one minds I'll plan on meeting up with the camping crew Frdiay night. Keep your eyes open for me - Green Mitsubisho Montero with an Aristocrat trailer on the back and a Black lab hanging out the window.

I can help out with the movie. The camper has a 700 watt invertor and two deep cycle batteries. But I do not have sound system though. The invertor isn't mounted so we could take it and power to where ever.

I was camping in the area last weekend and campgrounds where not very full. A lot are closed as we near the end of the season. Campfires are allowed!

    Looking forward to meeting everyone.

    Jon
