OK, we didn't get to camp this weekend like I planned so,,,,

Jerry, how about a campground recomendation for a 35yr old tent trailer so we can participate on this run??

OlyFJ, I think we met on the Whisky Dick tour. My 9yr old would love to have another youngster to hang out with.

We'll probaby head over Friday morning and make it a real trip.

Sawmill Flat Campground is popular. It is located about 8 miles north of Squaw Rock (our meeting place) on Hwy 410. According the the USFS they charge $10.00 per night and it has water, garbage service, and barrier free toilets.

Kaner Flats Campground is also popular. It is located about 10 miles north of Squaw Rock on FR19. According to the USFS they charge $10.00 per night. Water, vault toilets and garbage service are available.

There are several other USFS campgrounds on the 19 Road as well.

An alternative is to camp at the Squaw Rock campground. The "resort" rents camp sites near the river and I think they have hook-ups. There is also a shower, store and restaurant. Their number is 509-658-2926.

Sounds like a great run, Jerry, but we're going to have to miss it. We will be in Winthrop for the Fat Tire mountain bike festival with way too many friends.

Regardless, thanks again for all you efforts.

Boy or girl?

I've got two boys, 7 and 10. We won't make this trip, but eventually we'll be able to make one. Got to get a Jeep Cherokee (probably this spring) or fix my CJ-5 up a bit before we'll be able to do anything but tame roads that our behemoth Chevy Silverado can fit on.

Perhaps someone would like to attend the Clemen Mountain Tour in their new-to-them, bone stock, light blue, '94 Ford Explorer Sport, front hubs and 190,000+/- miles for only $1,000. It's in Clarkston, Washington and belongs to a friend of ours. Let me know if you are interested. In the mean time start getting ready for Clemen Mountain. See you there!

Either of Jerry's suggestions would be great. I have only stayed at Crow Creek Camp ground up the 19 road (Little Naches). I don't know if we will make it Friday night, I will leave it up to Farron if he want's to miss swim practice. If we do head over, we will leave Olympia around 2. Otherwise, we will head over early to make Squaw Rock for breakfast.

Jerry, any reason I shouldn't bring my trailer on a test run on this tour? I will have switched it over to spring over and want to see how it does.

Oh oh, I thought you were going to say you were planning on unhooking the trailer for the Clemen Mountain drive!

It's been awhile since I drove up Garrett Canyon, our entry point to the mountain, and it was sort of icy at the time plus I was in 2-wheel drive. My recollection, therefore, is clouded and I hesitate to say you can't make it with the trailer. I suspect it will work, but I will beg off answering this one for sure and leave it up to you. You will learn whether it works or not very early into the trip. If it doesn't perform to your expectations you can tow it about a mile down the highway to the Woodshed mini-market where I'm sure they will allow you to park it until after the tour. The rest of us will wait for you; we will talk about you, tell lies and cuss you out behind your back, but WE WILL WAIT FOR YOU.

So what-da-ya got-ta loose.......besides a trailer?
