Fine with me, I'll make sure I'm prepared for that

In case anybody has heard, there is a smallish wildfire about 5 miles north of Sherars Bridge. Its not expected to grow much more than the 468 acres its at now. I will be monitoring fire information just to make sure this doesn't affect our trip. But don't worry, I don't think it will

I'd like to attend, I talked to Mark about this run awhile back and I also have a little experience regarding the direction towards Rock Creek reservior where the toll area roughly use to be for the start of the Barlow trail nearby. I'll try and camp Friday as well.
FYI, to all. there are the overflow campgrounds that are just as the road from Still creek ties into the trillium turn off to the designated campground.. So everyone should have a spot to camp.
Oh my new Jeep is just that a 4dr JK.. Traded in my built LJ for more versatility in the 4dr Jk.
I hope to meet new people and see some familiar faces too probably.

Looks like the temp is going to be in the triple digits for this trip. Bring lots of water!

I was just checking to see what campsite availability might be like at Still Creek and I see all the reserveable sites are booked for Friday; only the first come first served spots can be had.

I was looking at Mt Hood Nation Forest web site and it says:

"Camping outside campgrounds is permitted in many parts of the Mt. Hood National Forest. Camping is permitted for 14 consecutive days and up to 28 days on the Forest in a calendar year. Some area are closed to camping or entry to protect the watershed or wildlife habitat. If you are uncertain whether an area is open, please contact a Forest Service office."

So, worst case I might just drive a few miles down Barlow Road and pull over at a good spot to camp.

We may have logistic problems on Friday night, too. If all the parking spots are full in front of our motel room we may have to park on the other side of the lot.

So, Ryan, what's the head count to date?

Something I've done in the past is camp near the intersection of 2656 rd and 131 rd between Trillium Lake and Still Creek. Here. It always reminds me of an old airstrip though i'm not sure it is one. Works out well and its not too far from Government Camp.
Assuming we've got two people coming from the FJ Cruiser I believe that gives a head count of 15 vehicles. Hopefully that won't be too hard to manage

Cool! If everyone shows that would be a fantastic turnout!

It looks like Friday is a holiday for us at work! I didn't know that until Monday so we should be able to arrive with plenty of time to find a campsite. My goal is to get there around 1-2 pm. I should have three folks including myself in my 4runner. Hopefully I am not too heavy for the trails! It looks like it may rain on Friday, there is a cold front pushing through so it looks like it will probably be wet.

Wow, much nicer temps at Government Camp than in the Portland area this weekend, but I am sure it will heat up towards the end of the run as we get near the Tygh Valley area...
