Default Any two day trip recomendations

The wife and I are looking to try and do a two day trip this weekend and try to do most of it offroad. We are also looking to do a night of camping while on this trip. Our vehicle is a lifted mid size truck so terrain is not a problem for us and we have all the recovery gear needed to get out of most sticky situations. We both just wanna get away for a few days and can't make it down to southern oregon with you guys.

Any ideas would be greatly apreciated and thanks in advance.

I know what you are feeling about wanting to get away. Unfortunately our heavy snowfall this year has put a damper on driving much off-road. There is still 5' of snow in some of the campgrounds. I heard most of the campgrounds on the east side of White Pass (Rimrock Lake area) are open and you can drive Forest Service roads until they become blocked by snow. Most of the 4x4 trails are fairly high in elevation and are still clogged up with snow. I would suggest calling the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie, the Olympic, Gifford-Pinchot and/or Wenatchee National Forests for campground information. Have a great weekend!

Having snow at such low elevations sure does limit the available locations.

No matter where you go, camping sites will be at a premium unless you are able to find a nice primitive site.

I would head to eastern washington and try to seek out something away from the popular holiday weekend destinations (busy locations include banks lake, moses lake, etc.).

Have fun.
