    Default TrekNow GPS Routes

Has anyone here used these routes or seen this site, http://www.treknow.com, or have any experience with them?

First time I have seen or heard of it. Terrific site! GPS or not it is an excellent list of backroad trips. I bookmarked it and promise you I will refer to it. Thank you for posting.

    Ditto on the great site.

However when I tried to order a CD the PayPal link did not work.

I emailed them about the problem.

I would have to agree with Jerry about the site. I have been in a few of the areas that they show for Washington, and yes they are some really good drives. Just glancing through it I noticed one or two of the routs that are no longer drive-able or you can only drive part of it. But most of them would be great drives. The Entiat and Shady Pass drives are two that I happen to notice.

Looking at the Oregon drives I see that while there are a number of interesting routes they tend to be minimal. Maybe more of an inspiration rather than detailed/current.

I wonder if the web site is still being actively maintained.

I have received no reply from them.

Well put. I think "interesting, but minimal" is a good description. As long as they are interesting enough to inspire us to make the drive.

The CD showed up in the mail yesterday, 11/7. Three day turnaround not bad.

    First impressions:
The CD is setup for the Windows operating system. I run a MAC so I ignored all of the install files and went straight to the GPX files and copied them into Garmin Basecamp. There was no problem copying them in.

The CD includes instructions on how to install it using Garmin Mapsource.

It also has the G7toWin and G7toCE programs on it.

The Route Files are in one folder in several different file formats for the different kinds of mapping software.

The GPX files are available in different point resolution.

Am looking forward to checking out some of the routes.
