    Default Evelyn Passed the Exam!

Wow! Good news! Evelyn, my wife, passed the Technician Class amateur radio exam this morning (9-19-15)! Ev had absolutely no prior experience or interest in ham radio so she started from scratch. She used the ARRL License Manual, lot's of valued advice from her friend Betsy (KG7SMB) as well as on-line study through "Ham Test Online". And she did great, missing only one question.

About a month ago Ev experienced a first hand "rescue" by listening-in on the radio communications between the parties. It wasn't until then that she realized just how valuable ham radio can be to folks in trouble on the backroads. That is also when she made up her mind to get licensed and learn how to operate the radios in our vehicles. Needless to say I am very proud of her.

    CONGRATULATIONS, EV!

Update: (10-02-15) Ev's new Call Sign is KG7WMC

Update: (10-17-15) Ev upgraded to GENERAL CLASS!

Update: (10-27-15) Ev was granted the vanity call sign K7OMY (Oh My!)

Update: (01-23-16) Ev upgraded to AMATEUR EXTRA CLASS!

Welcome to KG7WMC ! Congratulations, Ev! It seemed like it took forever, but the wait was a mere 2 weeks. So, stay tuned and see what she is up to next!
