Just about anywhere in S. Utah is interesting. I recommend doing the White Rim counter-clockwise and taking at least 3 days.

I have done the White Rim trail a number of times on a dirt bike. Great trip, as is most of the Canyon lands Ntl Park. Moab area is an off-roading paradise.

Good to know. I was thinking only two days for the White Rim, but I will make sure to plan on at least three days.

This really funny to me: I joined this forum because of the off-road overlanding/adventure emphasis. After joining the forum I decided to get my amateur radio license (independent of anything on the forum). Now, after exploring the forum more, I discover the forum is very oriented toward ham radio as well and a significant number of the members are hams.

Jerry, I saw the link to 4x4ham and plan to register soon for that also (although it seems somewhat reduntant given the emphasis on this forum).

I will be testing for the Technician Class next Saturday.

4x4 Ham is a neat forum, but not many folks from the Pacific Northwest participate. Mostly Arizona guys, but that's okay, we still have much in common. And there is really no competition between that forum and this one.

Hey, Saturday is the day, huh? Good deal. Next thing you know you will have a 100' tower in your back yard!

Good luck with your test. I am shooting for the first part of March for my test.

Thanks for the well wishes and encouragement. I have taken several practice tests and did well so I don't anticipate any problem at all. How does one apply for a vanity call sign? I see that Jerry's is K7PNW (Pacific North West) ... very cool.
