    Default Some 2m additions.

Slowly I been upgrading my rigs. I acquired an icom ic-2100 mobile unit with a power supply. I built a homebrew antenna for at home purposes. Now I want to swap it back and forth between my truck and home until I get a dual band mobile in my truck. Today I picked up everything I need to do this. Larsen 2m/440 antenna, mounting bracket, and the cable kit. I'm so stoked.

I plan on getting setting it up tomorrow to test the how good the reception is. Then I found out my buddy's step dad has an hf rig he might want to sell/give to me. Waiting to hear more on that. Looks like my comms here are on the up and up.

Nice rig. I need to get a mobile one of these days. I have a handheld hooked up to a truck mounted antenna

I got mine at a ham radio swap meet. Real good prices for used equipment.

Good move! I use the same antenna with a mag mount for the auxiliary 2m/440 radio in the pickup and like it a lot. Will be buying another one to replace the dual band antenna on a different vehicle. I have switched the antenna between different mounts on three different vehicles so have a little experience with it. Good picture of it as well as a description of how it is used on my QRZ.com page. How's the base station doing, JP? Every once in a while I can hear some of the repeaters in your area all the way over here in Yakima. I have checked into a couple of nets in the Tenino and Longview areas when conditions allow. Pretty good for 2 meters crossing the Cascade Mountains! Probably a bit of a bounce (reflection) to help it along.
