I'm game and my schedule is open. How about sometime soon and somewhere out of the weather?

Google "Wild Burgers" in Prosser or "Stoke's Burger Ranch" in Sunnyside. I don't know anything about either of them. Anyone? I'll drive Ev's Escape and show you the new HF ham radio installation.

Which reminds me, since this is the thread that recognizes licensed ham radio operators who frequent this forum, do we have anyone who wants to add their name and call sign to the list? And to see a list of Hams on this forum go to the first post of this thread.

What was that, N7GS, 'Hutchman', Mr. One-by-Two call sign Amateur Extra Class Operator? Despite all those credentials I haven't heard a word about burgers for three weeks and I'm getting hungry!

Congratulations!!! Thanks for adding your call sign to the PNW Backroad Adventures list. Check it out, you are on there!

Ham radio is not only a superior form of emergency communication, but can also be a fun hobby. Get on the air and talk. If you need any help in programming your radio or finding local repeaters let me know and maybe I can help.

Another update! Please see the first post of this thread for the updated list. Thanks to all of you guys and gals for bringing a higher class of communications to the backroads. You never know when it may be called upon to save the day or perhaps someones life.

Is there an unofficial calling frequency for this group?

Not really. We looked into it for awhile, but dropped the subject in favor of choosing a simplex frequency or repeater that best fits the area we are exploring as well as the desires of those participating and the functionality of their equipment. Sometimes the frequency is chosen by the trip leader and listed in the Tour Announcement while other times the frequency is not selected until just before the trip.
