thursday we went hunting/fishing above bull prairie, we traveled up to the tamarack lookout. they have a small cabin there you can rent with 2 bunkbeads (4 beds), a stove, fridge, table and what not. the best thing is the view
then i climbed the strairs (some were broken) up the fire tower
pretty high up there huh? (this was zoomed in lol)
back on ground
this was at bull prairie. not a bad lake, better fishing in a float tube and fly fishing.

Shawn, where is this lookout?
Gotta love Google maps.
I was hoping this was near Tamarack Springs campground in the LTMurray, which would have put it 90 minutes from home.
But no, it's in Oregon, about 30mi NW of John Day.
Just search for "tamarack lookout" and you'll get photos and pointer to the reservations page.
Head to bull prairie, take the left after the bull prairie road, its the 24 road. Follow the 24 until you come to the 2407 there will be a sign for the lookout. The roads get a little confusing from there when looking at the map but just keep right and there are more signs. The road gets a little nasty towards the top, wouldn't take a car but there were 3 stock 4x4 rigs there. The lookout is at the end of the 040 road.
