| BLUERIBBON COALITION ACTION ALERT! Attention Idaho Recreationists! Our partners over at the Snowmobile Alliance of Western States (SAWS) http://www.snowmobile-alliance.org/ just sent us an important "CALL TO ACTION" over a serious threat to motorized recreation in Idaho. Please do what ever you can to help and pass this information along to everyone you know. I have pasted a copy of the email below; please take a couple of minutes to read over the information. Thanks in advance for your involvement, Ric Foster Public Lands Department Manager BlueRibbon Coalition 208-237-1008 ext 107 __________________________________________________ _______________________ Subject: SAWS Action Alert: Congressional Hearing for CIEDRA - HR 222 From: "SAWS Idaho" <ScottC-ID@snowmobile-alliance.org> Date: Mon, 24 Sep 2007 07:44:13 -0600 To: <SAWS-CO@SnowmobileAlliance.org>, <SAWS-ID@SnowmobileAlliance.org>, <SAWS-WY@SnowmobileAlliance.org> SAWS Members, This is a quick request. We in Idaho have no idea what the impact of Senator Craig's impending resignation will be on CIEDRA. We know it won't be good. Senator Craig killed any chance this bill had last year. Currently this so-called wilderness bill has no co-sponsors but things can change very quickly. This bill will lock up another 320,000 acres of our public land into the national wilderness inventory, and has virtually no local support in the Idaho communities it directly impacts. We are asking that you either call or email Congressman Nick Rahall (D-WV). The message is simple: "Under no circumstances should HR 222 get a hearing. Thank you." Leave your name, address and phone number. By phone - 202-225-3452. Ask for Rick Healy and leave a message when you get his voice mail. By email - Rick.Healy@mail.house.gov Thank you. Scott |
