Default Forum is frequently too busy

Seems like lately the forum has been too busy to allow a connection. Just a few minutes ago it cut me off in the middle of a post. That's the second time that happened. I assume the host is having problems?

I haven't experienced this yet. I'll do some checking on the hosting side of things to see if any problems have popped up.

I found out that some maintenance was done on the night of Jan 8 to resolve some issues that were occurring.

Has it happened since then?

Besides Tuesday the 8th it happened last night, 01-10 and the day before, 01-09, but I can't tell you what time. I'll let you know the time if it happens again. Thanks.

Now we have established a time of day pattern. At least that gives me something to look into.

Is anybody else experiencing the same issue?

Thanks.

I may have found the issue.

The forum software performs automated tasks at certain times of the day, both hourly and daily. I noticed that many of the daily tasks were performed during the times mentioned above. I changed those time frames so they happen between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM.

Hopefully this will make a difference.

That's cool, Steve. I didn't know you could control those functions. Neat.
