At about 9:20 we were on our way to old Hwy 30 where The roads were nice and dry but farther we drove up the hill Where the road became more snow covered but not a problem. ![]() The view was great looking into the valley around Pendleton, There was a different sight as we pulled into Emigrant State Park for a quick stop. A lot of snow. From there we headed through the small communities of Meacham Kamela then La Grande. Where we picked up the Oregon trail on Foot Hill Rd. on the way to Hot Lake then Union. There we took H.W.Y 203 on our way to Oregon Trail Visitor center Witch is a great place to visit. ![]() On our way through Baker City we took time to see a quilting store and ice cream parlor. then a trip on side roadsto take in the views of the town. We found our way back to hwy. 30 on our way to Haines Where we had a wonderful Dinner at the Haines steak House. ![]() From there we headed to the small town of North Powder After passing through North Powder on hwy. 237 we saw the new wind farm on our way back to La Grande through Union. | Thanks to J.R. and Randy for planning the trip. We sure had a mix of weather; everything from 4 feet of snow to bone-dry pavement. We had a good time. Also, thanks to Eric for showing us his new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited JK model. Eric's Rubicon is a special edition modified by American Expedition Vehicles directly from the factory and it is just plain kool. You added a much appreciated personal touch to the tour, Eric! http://www.aev-conversions.com/ Jerry
