 Skyline Road - Mt Hood NF
I have started 'poking' around the Mt Hood NF. Yesterday we drove to Detroit and then up the hill to the start of Skyline road (NF 4220). A slow drive into Breitenbush lake and then a slower/rougher drive over the small ridge to Horseshoe lake where we picked up the good gravel road that comes down from Ollalie lake. It was two wheel driving, just slow.
Lunch at Ollalie lake and then followed the Skyline road north thru a variety of road surfaces and vegetation. There was a large tree across the route south of Timothy lake so we broke off and followed the paved NF 42 road to the lake. From Timothy lake we went down the hill to Ripplebrook and then on into Estacada.
Nice way to spend a day.
