A group of us are looking to run this soon. I would love to hear details on the route conditions. Did you travel Northbound or Southbound? How many days did it take you/would you recommend to do it in? Thanks!

We ran it south to north, road conditions were dry, dry & dry.....ha. Nothing to challenging, Packwood to Ellensburg was our favorite section.
We started Friday morning & made it to conconully around mid Monday, I'd recommend taking atleast 5 days. We were a bit rushed in 4 days & didnt actually do the last section, conconully to canada border.

Great pictures! Were there any washouts or anything to look out for on the trail? Can't wait to do this trip!

The weeks before our trip I was following the motorcycles guys on this forum, Washington Back Country Discovery Route - Page 39 - ADVrider post # 584 has a fairly detailed map of the route. There is a wash out near Wenatchee that you'll have to work around, we were crunched for time so I just found the nearest route to pavement & went through Wenatchee to Cashmere. Our favorite section was Packwood to Ellensburg just cause it was a little more interesting then flat gravel roads but nothing to bad, just some rutted out areas. I was in a '95 ranger rover classic with 3" lift but my buddy has a stock xterra, we had no problems, I'm always in 4hi but the xterra only used 4wd in the area the motorcycles guys have dubbed baby head hill but I'm sure he could've made it in 2wd.
