I wish to Thank the people and a guy named john that used his big winch on his jeep that pulled me out of the snow up on the nanuehm/clockum.

They were really freindly and kind and it was just peer luck to have people that will help other people in need of a emergency.

    thank you very much

Great job to all on this trip. I wish I was off and could attend but had to work 2 out of 3 days this past weekend.

That is really cool, you guys!

PS Hi Steve (stranger). When do you want to go on a weekday run?

thanks for a great trip on saturday,Mark and Vicki you guys did a great job being trail leaders and it was a pleasure meeting everyone cant wait to get back out there and do some more exploring. thanks again Dwight

  4. Thanks for a great run Saturday, I wish we could have stayed for the Sunday run (the snow on the trail looks great). Thanks to backwoods3 for planning and leading! I'll post a few pics as soon as we get some reformated.

  5. My son and I drove right past you guys airing up and unlocking Saturday night. Dim bulb that I am I actually told him it was obviously a group coming back out without it dawning on me who it was -- for at least 10 minutes -- or I would have stopped.

When we got in there it seemed like 500 elk, maybe more showed up or we were too blown away to think straight. It was an amazing sight. In the morning we woke up to some more elk and deer.

Sounds like it was a great outing. Sorry I missed it.

  6. nice photos. i need to go back up there and work on my wildlife photography.

  8. Hey all, we had a great time too!

Saturday was kind of long and bumpy but Sunday,,,,was GREAT!

Jerry, there were 3 winches ready for duty, John just happened to be in front. As you know, none of us would just drive by without helping.

Mark, tell the boys I'm sorry about the movie. I found I had crossed a wire on the battery islolator, so one battery was charging the other (DOH!).

Then I blew an old style fuse on the inverter, of which I didn't have a replacement. Both are fixed now and I put an extension cord/ power strip in the trailer. Now I need to work on the screen. Gotta figure out how to hang it from the awning.

I just downloaded the pictures from the camera but don't have much time to play with them right now.

When Velogeo passed us, I knew who it was but I couldn't remember your screen name. There aren't many rigs like that around. The elk must have been sprouting out of the ground, there weren't that may visible when we went by.

John, we took Hwy10 to Cle Elum too! that section of sandstone was really impressive.

Time to start planning the next trip, after Abby gets a little attention.

It was all good, but I agree; I like a little more of Sunday's type challenges sprinkled thruought a 60 miler.

Saturday had a mile or so section before the river gate where drainage had often washed out one tire track of the road creating a variety of ruts. Rather than avoiding them by staying all the way to one side, SpeedBump Dan in his XJ and Jen & I in the Astrolander were playing around with them a little. We would straddle the wash out ruts for fun or criss cross them, then take the high angle line up onto the berm with the low wheel inside the low ruts, etc, (getting to know those angles). Nothing big, just kinda fun making the most of what was there. It gave you a reason to try to be accurate with your line with no real consequences if you failed. Still getting used to my van and how it handles in different situations.

Sportsmobile claims their vans can handle a 35degree side angle (static, I suspect) without tipping. I know 15 to 20 makes me nervous, so I like to get the feal of the lesser angles just to get acquianted.
