| All Wheelers Off Road Club - Carnage Run on the Strobach Mountain Trail and 4W613 June 7th, 2008 We started we two groups on this run. Three rigs started at the Cowiche Mill Road DNR parking area and two rigs started at the Nasty Creek Corrals. Our group at Cowiche Mill Rd was Ceg, Colemancooler and Toyzuki. ![]() We stopped here on Cowiche Ridge for a short break from the bumping trail. ![]() Now up on the Strobach Mountain Trail, we enjoying the trees. ![]() ![]() ![]() "Phantom 309" and "roller bear" were the ones who started at Nasty Creek. They were ahead of us and had a lot to cut to get through. Toyzuki having fun. ![]() ![]() A little tight. ![]() "roller bear" and "Phantom 309" waiting for us at the Strobach Mountain vista. ![]() ![]() Looking back at Toyzuki and Colemancooler waiting for the deer to cross. ![]() Bubz wearing his jacket up-side-down. Rimrock Lake in the back ground. ![]() Waiting for the Toyotas that were waiting for the deer to move on. ![]() ![]() ![]() Moving up 4W613 toward Dome Peak. ![]() ![]() The climb up to the meadow was slick. ![]() Since we kept sliding back down the hill, we decided to walk up to see how the trail around the corner was. It was about the same. My co-pilot "Wantawheel" and looking back down at the Tweety Jeep. ![]() We decided since we did see anyone behind us and could not get them on the CB, we would turn around. We came back down and had to winch Toyzuki up so the others could get by. Toyzuki had a ripped valve stem and needed to go back down to change tires. Here are the rigs going around Toyzuki. ![]() ![]() "Phantom 309" worked my winch to get Toyzuki turned around. ![]() The group heading on up. ![]() Toyzuki doing the Jack dance. ![]() A guy rolling a big tire up hill is fun to watch. ![]() On the way down we ran into BenW and JayW. ![]() ![]() We stopped for a picture of the rigs and the frosted trees. ![]() We stopped here as we were heading toward Nasty Creek Corrals. ![]() Right before the log decks on Jackass Road I got stuck. ![]() ![]() ![]() Toyzuki pulled me out and we were on our way. We hit a lot more snow after the log decks. Most was off camber. ![]() Toyzuki plowing through. ![]() ![]() The snow drifts were getting real deep and the off camber was getting bad. As Toyzuki was working his way through we went on to see how the trail was ahead. We stopped at a big drift where the tree opened up. We sure didn't want to get stuck without some place to winch to. Here is looking across at 4W613 in the Dome Peak fire area. ![]() We turned around and had a blasted hitting the snow drifts back to where Toyzuki was stuck. ![]() We winched Toyzuki out. ![]() We turned around and headed out. ![]() I got stuck in Toyzuki's holes. Toyzuki pulled me out and we head on down the mountain. Here we stopped at the small Sno-park. A picture of the Tweety Jeep after the Carnage Run. It came out without any damage. ![]() This was a fun run thanks to the people who came. |

| Thanks, Clay, that was a great write up and the photos were A#1. I wish I had been there, but your report made me feel like I was right there with you. Clay doesn't blow his own horn so I will do some of it for him. He is the manager of the All Wheelers Off Road Club, a first class, extremely active, family oriented club that welcomes all sizes of 4x4's, quads and bikes. They enjoy all difficulties of trails, stock to highly modified, and some of the guys enjoy a little carnage, but they do so in designated areas. AWORC not only practices the principles of tread lightly, they teach it to others. Over the years Clay, or Ceg as he is known on forums, has worked closely with the DNR and Wenatchee National Forest and has established a good reputation with both agencies. Clay is also the owner and administrator of the Eastern Washington Off Road Forum, popular with folks from both sides of the mountains. The approx. 500 member forum is separate from the club, but it promotes the same principles. If you want to learn a little about 4-wheeling in eastern Washington, find out where to go and how to get there, check out EWOR. Did I mention they have a lot of fun? Jerry
