Thread: Everyone here high and dry?

  1. Everyone here high and dry?

Anyone at risk of flood danger?

Makes me glad I built my house on a 450-foot hill!

    Stay safe, folks....

  2. Nope no danger of flood here as of yet. We have an old mill race behind us that has got alot of water running in it but it has to come up a long ways before it can flood. The Willamette River is also about 300 yards away so it would take dam to fail before we would have a problem with it flooding us. Plus we live on the second floor of an apartment building.

  3. We live on a hill overlooking the Columbia and are dry as can be. However, the river is really up and my guess is will be for the next couple of weeks.

  4. No problem here at the house in Yakima, but our cabin on the Naches River could be a different story. The Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service (div of NOAA) is predicting the Naches will crest at around three-o-clock this afternoon at just above flood stage. There shouldn't be a problem if it crests at the level they predict, but if their prediction is too conservative, well.... There's not a thing we can do about it.

As a side note, we were thinking about going snow wheeling this weekend, but if the conditions are such that we create deep muddy ruts before we reach snow we will turn back and try a different access. Tread Lightly!
