Thread: Gas Prices

  1. Gas Prices

It's funny how gas prices dipped for last November's election and now are quietly rising week by week. Coincidence?

    Your thoughts...

  2. Earlier in the year (2008), I predicted this would happen again. Low and behold, the gas prices are dropping just before the election (just as in 2006).

It's funny how history repeats it self. If so, expect the prices to start to climb in mid-November.

What are your thoughts (or predictions)?

  3. Yeah I've definitely noticed it. Prices around here just started dropping below $3/gallon. I don't like it but I WILL be taking advantage of it and doing a few more trips this next few weeks than I'd planned.

  4. Why wouldn't one like the fact that prices are coming down? I've heard this from other sources too.

The gubmint doesn't set gas prices though, so I'm not on board with the suggestion that they have something to do with this. I think you'll see the same thing on non-election years as well, but mostly I think you'll find it is caused by a number of factors. But gubmint.... I'd love to blame them for this too, but I just can't see it.

Oil is just another commodity and virtually all commodities have been going lower the last month...including gold and other precious minerals. The prices finally are making their way to the pump.

    Example here

At least, that's how I see it.
