| Someone asked in another thread about my S2000 (which steals time from my JK), but I refuse to thread-jack so I started a totally new thread over here ![]() S2kI.com Drive Pictures Crater Lake, Oregon - July 2008 3D, Washington - July 2008 Astoria, Oregon - June 2008 Stonehenge, Washington - May 2008 Scenic 7, Arkansas - July 2007 Mine is the blue one. |

We like our S2000 very much, and where it can seem cramped, on daily use I've found it quite nice. We even did a two week driving trip in it. |

| Nice car! Great photos, too. Like Hutch, I would need the Super-sized model. My friend Bill from Ellensburg, a member of BDNW and this forum, took me out to lunch one day and we drove in his Miata. Talk about needing a shoehorn! I haven't felt that cramped since back in my (skinny) college days riding in my friend's Austin Healey Sprite. Heck, in 1962 (still in college) I seriously thought of trading my '54 Mercury on a used '57 Thunderbird, but the T-Bird was too small. That was back in the days when '57 Birds were still affordable. Anyway, your S2000 is a beauty and it's nice seeing that you enjoy it.

| If I remember correctly, doesn't the S2000 red line at something like 10k ? Steve

| The 2000 through 2003 model was the "AP1" with the F20c engine, 2.0L I4 that redlines at 9000 RPM. My car is a 2006, AP2 (2004 - present), with the F22c, 2.2L I4 that redlines at 8000 RPM. The really interesting bit, though, is the VTEC stuff. It's a very docile town cruiser below 6000 RPM, low power, low torque, but when you kick it in the butt (6kRPM) the power comes on and the car takes off like a rocket, all the way up to 8 grand. If you're a decent shifter keeping it in VTEC is easy and the car will continue on up to the 130mph range before you know it. But on the track (never been to one myself) keeping it in VTEC in 2nd and 3rd gear produces quite an exhilarating experience, or so I'm told. Formula 1 cars redline at something like 15000 RPM, but those are significantly larger engines. I wouldn't be surprised if the F20c pistons are moving faster. |

| Now you've gone and done it. I'm really liking that S2000 since you've posted it up here. A lot. Since then I've been trying to talk my Fiancee into one. She resists, she loves the Murano I bought her two years ago. I bought it for her...and I knew it was what I wanted her to have before we picked it out. Hmm. When is the next S2000 meet?

Just today I saw someone posted images of the 2009 S2000 brochure. Assuming they didn't fabricate the images it looks like the car is going another year, if you're interested in brand new. Changes happen on even years, so other than 'brand new' the 2009 actually won't be different from 2008. And 2002 (glass rear window) and 2004 (all around comfort increase) were the most important changes. If you're serious about it I can talk your ear off (: Mine is a 2006.

| Thanks for the reply, but she hit me with a good one the otherday. After riding around in her friend's Audi TT convertible she said , and I'm paraphrasing, "Don't but me a sportscar if you want to have kids anyime soon. These are great but definitely not conducive to motherhood, and to go from this to a mom car is not going to do much for my attitude" Hmm. I guess the Murano is just fine for all the reasons we originally picked it for. Its big and small all at the same time. Its sporty. It hauls kayaks and bikes, (and can haul kids I s'pose). Bumper to bumper it leaves a lot of space left over in my garage. Bose, leather, all the goodies. Its an '04 that we bought in '06 and it still has only 35,000 miles on it. We really like it. In retro spect I should have bought the Honda in '06 and began looking at Murano's (or used X5's!) now, but we really have gotten our utility out of the Nissan these last two ans a half years, thats for sure. Thanks anyway, I appreciate the info.
