| I recently replaced the transfer case shifter in my 92 Jeep Wrangler with a Novak Shift Kit. Often times when a vehicle is lifted to accommodate bigger tires the transfer case shift linkage binds up and hard shifting results. Mine was not only hard shifting, but it popped out of gear twice, once in a rather precarious place while 4-wheeling, and that was when I made up my mind to switch to the Novak shifter. Novak eliminates the reverse-linkage design that Jeep uses. The factory configuration is designed to move the transfer case lever backwards while moving the shift lever forwards. Goofy, huh? Novak simplifies the linkage by connecting the two levers allowing both to move in the same direction. My shift pattern is now reverse from the factory design, but that's okay with me. Originally 2 wheel high was all the way forward where I had to lean forward in the seat to reach the shift lever. But, now it is within comfortable reach and easier to shift between 2w high and 4w high. I also ordered a new shift knob showing the revised shift pattern for drivers unfamiliar with my Jeep. A good addition. http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/kit_sk2x.htm
