Default just got a 12 volt cooler

I just picked up a used 12 volt chest cooler (fridge) from a neighbor. It's a "Koolatron" brand. It's their 36 quart that lists for $199 online. Acording to their web site, it can be used as a chest or as an upright unit. I havent plugged it in, but he did and says it works great. I paid $5 for it. (UMMMMM,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, did I pay too much????????????? LOLOLOLOL)

I think it will make a fine addition to the green adventure machine as well as the adventure trailer we are still in the process of morfing into "our" perfect adventure living quarters!

Well, I have been playin with this fridge a bit and have been impressed. It will get down to 37* in my garage, ambient temp 65. It will run for over tewn hours on an old battery I took out of my beater Ford Escort before I junked the car! Not bad and it's 36 qts, weighs apx 5 lbs empty. Over all I'd say its a good unit. It will work as a chest or upright. It should be seeing a bunch of use this summer.

That's good to hear about the cooler. I don't know if you have a thermometer already since you did mention the temperature inside the cooler but just in case you don't have one, I would suggest you have a thermometer in there when out in the field so that you know the food is not in the 'danger' zone.

    Cheers,
