Very interesting idea.
Is the intent to remove it once parked or to travel with it attached to your hitch?

Im thinking about making a small kitchen to carry on my hitch.
120v/12v/LP Fridge frezzer , a 4 burner LP cooktop and oven, stainless steel sink w/ 12v pump and storage tank for fresh water. Maybe 2 -12v batts and a solar cell to recharge it. All the parts are Rv /camper parts.
Has any one done anything like this? If so I would love to see some pics.

Something I can carry to the camp and leave it free standing maybe on trailer jacks ,when you want to roll out hiking or run to the store. Then when its time to go just back up and hook it in to head home.
Wow! Great idea. Maybe a couple of crank-down wheels (i.e. trailer front wheel) to dolly it off the the hitch and couple of secure fold down supports opposite the wheels for support in camp. No matter which way you move it off the rig, it's a good idea.

Maybe run a garden hose out of your camp site and let it drain the sink water away, then coil it back up.
You could also put on an umbrella holder to give you some shade.
The more I think about it the more I want to do it!
For possible inspiration, take a look at some of the expedition trailers that have kitchen units. Be sure to check some of the Aussie sites as well. You may see something that will trigger a design idea that will work.

One of the local Ford Explorer boys built a chuck wagon with about 3ft of ground clearance..
Yea the expo trailers is what started with the IdeaIf I did tow then I want a bigger trailer like a small pop tent trailer. My van is by no means fast or powerful and I thought a trailer may also need brakes hooked up. With my deuce I can tow all day and not feel a thing but that van is so small and lite that a fast moving truck gives me the shove on the highway when the blowby. I thought the extra weight for traction over the rear would help with wet hills.
This is an interesting idea. I have wanted to make a simple table/seat setup for when we are out on short trips and want to stop for lunch. The addition of the kitchen that can be removed from the hitch and moved about camp is great. I can picture a simple box with the sink/stove on top and a lid to cover. All other goodies inside accessible through a locking cabinet door.
The weight will add up quick if using the hitch. Do you need to get into the rear when it is connected? Probably not with a van. I am rebuilding my camp trailer and will get some pics of what I did with it when I get a little further along. I found walking around an RV wrecking yard can help with the inspiration.
Head to the ball game and you'll be the envy of all the other tailgaters.
Heres some drawings I did real quick.
Next Ill put together a parts/price/weight list and see what it comes out to.
