Default Pett Toilet

THE PETT TOILET
http://www.thepett.com/

We purchased a Pett Dry Toilet System several months ago (like a year) and I am just now getting around to trying it out. So tonight I set up the PUP Privacy Shelter (tent) in the glow of the porch light and without reading the instructions. The tent went together in a snap. I took it down in only a few minutes and after folding it up it actually fit into the storage bag. So far so good.

I will read the instructions before testing the toilet and will do so in the daylight...in the house...in privacy...and will spare the details unless things don't go well.

We have a Pett. Used to have the tent also but considered it a PIA so sold it.

The Pett works well. It is a little too low to the ground for me. I have purchased some bed raisers to put under it but have not tried that setup yet.

We get about 3, maybe 4 uses out of a single bag. This is when we are in a group. I recommend peeing in the brush first. You will probably need a separate container to put the used bags in.

I am experimenting with a more compact system but have a few 'refinements' to test out.

On a somewhat related topic, I found this site of interest:

Outdoor Defecation Techniques

Enjoy

I prefer the freestanding method.

I've always been more comfortable with the log seat method, though I have used the other techniques when required.

By the way, sorry if this highjacked your thread Jerry.
