Thread: Beverly Dunes CLOSED June 8th - 12th, 2009

  1. Beverly Dunes CLOSED June 8th - 12th, 2009

Beverly ORV will be closed from Monday June 8th to Friday June 12th in order to apply the surface to the new road and parking lots.

  2. Juniper Dunes Access

What's the deal with access to Juniper Dunes? Seems like everyone is going out there, but I haven't heard of any agreement between the owner of the road and the general public. Last I heard the BLM Ranger was inviting people to trespass and groups like the PNW4WDA were sponsoring events without permission to cross the private property. Now, I am not pretending to be goody-two-shoes and I do not have the audacity to preach one way or the other, but I personally have high regard for private property rights. I'm wondering, has there has been an unofficial truce or what? If so, when? By who?

    From Region 4 July Minutes:
Region 4 minutes from July 14, 2009 - Pacific Northwest Four Wheel Drive Association
    LAND MATTERS:
Doug Conner (Roamin’ Chariots) reported there is a fire restriction on BLM (Bureau of Land Management) lands in Washington State. No campfires are allowed but ORV’s can still use Juniper Dunes but this area may be closed at any time.

I was out there a couple of weeks ago......the land owners have posted the road into the area as private property...no tresspassing. It is posted all the way out at the intersection with the Kahlotus Hiway. Looks like there is trouble out there...!
