A man (and his grandson) after my own heart! If you haven't already you might consider joining the Oregon-California Trails Association for detailed locations of trail segments. Following is a link to the Northwest Chapter: http://www.octa-trails.org/chapters/northwest/index.html Another place to visit in the Meacham area is the outdoor interpretive center at Blue Mountain Crossing. They have a nice walking path to the Oregon Trail as well as the newer freight wagon road that parallels the main trail. The area may still be snowed in this year, but should be open soon. Take Exit 248 off I-84 between Meacham and La Grande. And mark you calendar for the Backroad Drivers Northwest tour of the Barlow Road on August 16th. Ryan from Lake Oswego will be leading that tour and I, for one, am looking forward to it. I think you guys will enjoy exploring visible segments of the trail. I sure do. Jerry
