I got a little confused when you were referring to the head of the lake.

"We were only able to drive to FR200 (a short distance past the head of the lake) because of snow."

Did you make it past the two bridges to the yellow gate?

"From the head of the lake, we made an attempt to reach the fish collection site just below the Wynoochee Dam, but again, our path was blocked by a windfall."

Do you mean you backtracked and then went below the dam?
From what I can recall, we drove up the east side of the lake until we reached the #200 road. That was as far as we could drive that day.

Then we drove back down past the the dam and then attempted to drive to the fish collection site. From there we drove back to the dam.

My definition of "the head of the lake" is where the river dumps into the lake.

The photo of the river was between the head of the lake and the #200 road.

I hope this clears up the confusion.
