Default Wynoochee-Skokomish Adventure - 04.04.2008

Very interesting trip. I happen to live a couple miles from the beginning of the gravel. Been down to the wreck once and up on the canyon rim a few times.

I don't know if you've been up by Grisdale much but if you haven't the end of June and early July is when you can make the loop up past the head end of the lake. The snow is still on up higher around then blocking the road.

In one picture you were down by the river and it was dozed out; where were you at when that picture was taken? The reason I ask I haven't been home since January; college.

I got a little confused when you were referring to the head of the lake.

"We were only able to drive to FR200 (a short distance past the head of the lake) because of snow."

Did you make it past the two bridges to the yellow gate?

"From the head of the lake, we made an attempt to reach the fish collection site just below the Wynoochee Dam, but again, our path was blocked by a windfall."

Do you mean you backtracked and then went below the dam?

I think I know what you did, but got confused by how you worded it.

Looks like you had a good time and had a good drive.
