Jerry, just a consideration for you on your planning. As you know, we're going to be over in the area earlier in the week but won't be able to stay for the weekend. Bummer...

You're right on your Friday plans being a long day. I figure you'll cover 330 miles and at least 11 hours or more of driving. You won't be able to see much around the Whitehorse Ranch but just south of the ranch are the Trout Creek Mountains and just to the east and connected to them are the Oregon Canyon Mountains before reaching Hwy 95. The views up there are just fantastic, lots of wildlife and last time I was through there were absolutely no other people.

I realize you wouldn't have the time that day to see that section (that's more than a half day by itself) but it's just a thought for your planning. Maybe on one of the other trips even. It would be nice while you're that close. That (Oregon Canyon) road comes out about ten miles south of Basque Station on Hwy 95.

Just FYI, not trying to intrude.
