Lolo Pass Visitor Center Opens for Winter Season (Idaho)

Powell, ID- The Lolo Pass Visitor Center, located on the Idaho-Montana state line along U.S. Highway 12, is open for the winter season. Winter hours of operation are Thursday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Pacific Standard Time.
Snowmobile trail grooming will begin on Tuesday, December 15, and cross-country ski trail grooming will begin on Saturday, December 19. There is approximately two feet of snow at the pass. Dogs are not allowed on the groomed trails. Beginning Saturday, December 19, a recreation pass will be required for use of the area’s trails. Day passes are $5.00 and season passes $20.00. Currently, day and season passes can be purchased at the Visitor Center, Lolo Hot Springs, Brady’s Sportsman’s Surplus, and The Trail Head.
A snowshoe trail and sledding area are also available for use at Lolo Pass. Maps of area trails can be obtained at the Visitor Center. The Visitor Center also features an interpretive display room, gift shop, educational videos and local travel information
Individuals planning to bring a large group to Lolo Pass for educational or recreational activities should contact Molly Puchlerz at the Powell Ranger Station (208) 942-3113. Puchlerz can also answer any other questions about the Lolo Pass area.
